More than 500 patients examined on the inaugural day of 3 days medical camp
Barabanki (UP): Indian Muslim Relief and Charities (IMRC) and Jahangirabad Educational Trust Group of Institutions (GETGI) started three days Medical camp from 20th February 2016 at Jahangirabad Fort, Barabanki (UP). IMRC is organizing annual India Health Initiative for poor and needy, this year for the seventh consecutive year.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Abdul Hamid Superintendent of Police (SP), Barabanki, along with Executive Director of IMRC, Mr. Manzoor Ghori. Abdul Hameed while terming medical camps as a service to humanity urged more organisations to come forward with similar free medical camps. Director JIT, Dr KM Rafi welcomed all the US doctors for choosing Barabanki as a spot for 3 day free medical camp.
Manzoor Ghori, Executive Director of Indian Muslim Relief and Charities (IMRC) said, “Working in rural India require a lot of energy, but at the end of the day, you feel a sense of satisfaction and sense of accomplishment, that we are making some difference to the people here. In next three weeks we will be conducting medical camps in Hyderabad and Kerala also.”
This year 10 US based NRI doctors with different specialties will provide free medical services. They have backgrounds in internal medicine, family medicine, gynaecology, paediatrics, surgery, geriatrics and emergency medicine.
Shahbuddin, 65 is suffering from blurry vision since last 4 years. He travelled 35 km from village Banshasareef, Barabanki (UP) to get examined in the 3 day, free medical camp being organized by IMRC. He said, “I went to various eye specialists but they don’t do the kind of check-up which doctors here are doing for free of cost. At other hospitals they charge a lot of money but do not treat us properly. Here everything, they are dong for free. For medicines and necessary tests, I have to pay nothing.”
Dr John Rosenberg (ER Physician) said “Today, we examined 550 patients. Who were provided with free medicines and free medical test. The day was like warm up for us. Day was good. We got patients with aches, gastro related problems, rashes and others”.
Dr. A.K. Mishra, Dr. Tufail Ahmad, Dr. Javed Siddiqi, Mohd Zubair Khan, Afaqe Ahamd, Ashraf Ali Khan and all staff/faculty members were present at this event.
